At Odeda Jewellery Ltd, we are committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. Should we ask you to provide certain information by which you can be identified when using this website, then you can be assured that it will only be used in accordance with this privacy statement. This privacy policy describes how Odeda Jewellery Ltd (which we refer to as ‘Odeda Jewellery’, ‘us’, ‘we’, and ‘our’) collects and uses personal information in accordance with applicable data protection laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation. By providing us with your data, you warrant to us that you are over 13 years of age.

WHAT INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT AND WHY?

Personal information means any data that is capable of identifying an individual. We collect your personal information when you place an order, sign up for our marketing communications, browse our website or use the other services offered by our website. The data we collect includes details you provide to us, such as your name, e-mail address, telephone number and your shipping and billing addresses. We, may also collect data regarding your shopping habits and the pages and products you have viewed from your use of the website, and interaction with emails through the use of cookies and other tracking technologies. This can include your geographic location, your browser, your device type, how you were referred to us, serch terms you used to get to us, what you browsed on the webite and how long you stayed on the website for. We use this data to: 

• Take your orders, process your payments and deliver the items you have purchased;
• Provide any additional services you have requested, such as our marketing communications; 
• Where relevant give you access to services reserved for registered users, such, where applicable, wish list and product alerts; 
• Deliver your post, if you are a customer or account holder; 
• Provide you with help and assistance if you have any questions;
• Monitor the performance of our campaigns; and
• Personalise your visit to the website and ensure that content from our site is presented in the most effective manner for you and for your computer.


Under data protection law, we must have a valid legal basis to process your data. In most instances, we will process your data because we have a contract with you e.g. to deliver your purchases or to provide you with other services you have requested. We will also use your personal data to send you sales and marketing communications that we believe may be of interest to you if we have your explicit consent for this activity. HOW DO WE USE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?

  2. Carrying out our obligations arising from any contracts entered into between you and us

  4. Creating your online profile (where applicable)

  6. Carrying out market research and analysis including satisfaction surveys

In relation to (8) above, where you have expressly consented to such use, for example when you create an account with us, we may also use information held about you to provide you with information about products, promotions and special offers which may be of interest to you as well as personalised communications and we may contact you about these by email, post or telephone. You have the right to ask us not to process your personal data for marketing purposes. We will inform you (before collecting your data) if we intend to use your data for such purposes or if we intend to disclose your information to any third party for such purposes. COMMUNICATIONS FROM US

We may contact you via the below channels:

Email

We may email you once an order has been placed to confirm receipt of your order and remind you what you have ordered. We will send a further email to let you know your order has been accepted and when it has been dispatched.


We may send newsletters to customers and individuals who have given us permission to contact them. These are used to inform you about new launches, sales/special offers and information we think you’ll find interesting. It is easy to stop receiving these newsletters by clicking on the ‘unsubscribe’ button found on the bottom of each communication we send. Alternatively contact us at hello@odedajewellery.com

Phone

Rarely, if there is an issue with your order, or we need to refund/take any further payments, we may need to call you on the phone number you have provided. We may also need to provide your phone number to courier companies for the purpose of ensuring a safe delivery (in particular this is sometimes a requirement of international deliveries)


Social Media

If you contact us via social media, we will respond on the same channel or move to email if we feel the conversation needs further assistance.

WHERE DO WE STORE YOUR PERSONAL DATA AND HOW IS IT SHARED?

Please note that we are storing and processing your information in order to fulfil contracts we might have with you (for example if you make an order through our website), or otherwise to pursue our legitimate business interests as set out in this privacy policy. Some of the software tools we use may transfer your information outside of the UK or Europe, including to the United States.

In particular, our website is provided by a company called Wix.com Ltd ('Wix'). Wix may collect, store and process your personal information on our behalf and at our direction as a data processor.  Such information will generally be stored in their data centres which are located in the US, Ireland and Israel. To help provide its services Wix may transfer data to other Wix entities for storage and as necessary to provide our services. Wix also uses certain third party sub-processors to provide their services. All transfers of data are subject to appropriate safeguards to ensure that they are conducted in compliance with applicable data protection laws. Wix affiliates and third party service providers that may store or process your information on behalf of Wix are contractually committed to keep it protected and secured in accordance with industry standards and regardless of any lesser legal requirements which may apply in their jurisdiction.  If you are located in Europe, when Wix transfers personal information to the US or anywhere outside Europe they make sure (i) that there is a level of protection deemed adequate by the European Commission or (ii) that the relevant standard contractual clauses are in place.  Wix also participate in and have certified their compliance with the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield Framework. WHO DO WE DISCLOSE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION TO?

We will not disclose your personal information to any other party other than in accordance with this policy and/or in the circumstances detailed below.

We only share your personal information with third parties as set out in this Privacy Policy and to help us use your personal information for the purposes described above. We do not sell or rent any personal information to third parties. We may pass your information to our third party service providers or subcontractors for the purposes of completing tasks and providing services to you on our behalf.


When we use third party service providers, we disclose only the information that is necessary to deliver the service and require them to keep your information secure under data protection laws.


For example, we use Wix to power our online store and Wix provides us with the online platform that allows us to sell your products and services to you. If you purchase or attempt to purchase a product from us, direct payment gateways are provided by Wix who use reputable third third-party banking and distribution institutions to handle credit card transactions and order fulfilment. The information needed to verify and authorise your payment card and to process your order is automatically shared with them. All direct payment gateways offered by Wix adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, Mastercard, American express and discover. PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our store and its service providers.



We may also disclose your personal information to another party:

  • if we, or substantially all of our assets, are acquired by a third party, in which case personal data held by us about our customers will be one of the transferred assets;

  • if we are under a duty to disclose or share your personal data in order to comply with any legal obligation, or in order to enforce or apply this privacy policy and any other agreements; or

  • to protect the rights, property, or safety of Odeda Jewellery, our customers, or others. This includes exchanging information with other companies and organisations for the purposes of fraud protection and credit risk reduction.

HOW LONG WE KEEP YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

We take reasonable steps to ensure that the personal information we hold about you is reliable for its intended use and is as accurate and complete as is necessary to carry out the relevant purposes described in this privacy policy. We will retain your personal information for so long as is reasonably necessary for us to fulfil the relevant purposes described in this privacy policy unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.

HOW WE PROTECT YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

We are strongly committed to data security and we take reasonable and appropriate steps to protect your personal information from unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration or corruption.

In addition, Wix, who provides the platform we use for our online shop has implemented security measures designed to protect the personal information you share with us, including physical, electronic and procedural measures. Wix offer HTTPS secure access where appropriate; the transmission of sensitive payment information (such as a credit card number) through our designated purchase forms is protected by an industry standard SSL/TLS encrypted connection; and Wix regularly maintain a PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards) certification. Wix also regularly monitor their systems for possible vulnerabilities and attacks, and regularly seek new ways and third party services to further enhancing the security of their services and the protection of the  privacy of visitors and users of the website.

​However, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure, therefore, although we will do our best to protect your personal data, we cannot and do not guarantee the security of any data transmitted to our site and any such transmission is at your own risk.
