HALLMARKING

Hallmarking is a legal requirement in the UK on silver, gold, palladium and platinum over a certain weight.  Those weights are 7.78g for silver, 1g for gold and palladium and 0.5g for platinum.

All the jewellery we make over these weights is hallmarked by the London Assay Office. This protects you as a consumer and allows you to be confident you are buying genuine precious metals.

Items under these weights can also be hallmarked on request for an additional cost. Please contact us for more information.

The marks you will see on our hallmarked jewellery will usually include our registered sponsor’s mark (ETG), a fineness mark, the London assay office mark (a leopard!), a traditional fineness symbol representing the type of metal used and a letter representing the date.
